Tasmania packs a world of scenery and experiences into a compact package--it's an island of the extraordinary.
It's an island of contrasts and surprises; in Tasmania we'll experience some of Australia's most remote wilderness, picture-perfect beaches, unusual wildlife, and unique forests.
Tasmania has a rich colonial heritage, wonderful wilderness, superb food and wine, distinctive art and crafts, and friendly people who'll give you a warm Tasmanian welcome.
The heart of our trip is a rafting expedition through Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.

This eleven-day trip on the Franklin River will give us access to some of Tasmania's most remote back country. This park is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area that covers 20% of the island.
Much of the park is made up of deep white water filled gorges surrounded by thick rainforests. Including a hike to Frenchman's Cap, the park's most spectacular peak with views of the entire south west, this trip is a truly unique wilderness experience.
The Franklin River offers a variety of white water grades and moods. Rafting this river involves committing yourself to the pleasures and discomforts that go hand in hand with wilderness activities.
Expeditions offer views of the unique landscape, peaks and creeks shared by the lucky few who see first hand Tasmania's beautiful south west wilderness. We do not require that you have any previous rafting experience, however a reasonable level of fitness is required for this trip.
Rafting down this superb river is the only way to truly appreciate its wild beauty. It is acknowledged as one of the most spectacular and difficult river trips around, attracting adventurers from all over the world.
The opportunity of an expedition-style trip incorporating a climb of Frenchmans Cap makes this the ultimate wilderness experience. From the top of Frenchmans Cap (1443m) one gets a breathtaking view of the rugged wilderness area surrounding the Franklin, also encompassing the Engineer Range and Macquarie Harbor.
The Rafting portion of our trip culminates with a chartered yacht trip down the picturesque Gordon River and across Macquarie Harbor to Strahan.
We begin and end our journey in Hobart. This city is so attractive that just sipping coffee under the sun umbrellas of Salamanca Place is an experience you’ll want to remember long after your return home.
The city stretches along the banks of the Derwent River, bounded on one side by Mt Wellington, a dramatic presence occasionally dusted with snow. From its summit, views of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and coastline give context to Hobart’s maritime heritage, which finds expression today in bright spinnakers on the water, fish punts at the docks, and the slap of halyards on masts.
From Hobart we dive into the wilds of south-west Tasmania on our Franklin River expedition. After reaching Strahan we swing back to the east coast. Along the way we will spend time hiking in Freycinet National Park, along Tasmania’s Sun Coast, home to some of the worlds most picturesque beaches.
There is an optional visit to a wildlife park, guaranteeing us the opportunity to see some of Tasmania’s unique critters, like Kangaroos, Echidnas and Tasmanian Devils. Our final day in Tasmania is spent on the Tahune Airwalk, up in the forests Canopy, followed by a short hike to Lake Esperance high in Hartz Mountain National Park.
