Day One: Arrival in Kathmandu. Greeted by your Gryphon and transferred to our hotel. Meet the group for dinner. Hotel Stay.
Day Two: This is a day to sleep off your jet lag or to explore the capital of Nepal on your own or with a group. Kathmandu is a unique mix of cultures and sights. The open air bazaars, different temples, and character of the city will let you know your adventure has begun. Hotel Stay.
Day Three: Today we fly to Pokhara, about a 45 minute flight. As soon as we arrive we transfer by bus to Nayapool, and then get on the trail for a short hike to Thikedunga. We will pass the village of Birethanti along the way, this has been called the most civilized village in Nepal. Tea House Stay.
Day Four: On the Trail we hike past rice terraces and into beautiful rhododendron forests to Ghodopani. Our day starts with descent to the Bhurunga Khola, and then climbs through the forests for the afternoon. Tea House Stay.
Day Five: We hike to the sister village of Tadapani. Tea House Stay.
Day Six: Trek onwards to Chommorong. This is the last of our stays in a larger village for a while, as Chommorong (2,210M/6,851ft) is the last permanent settlement in the valley. No one lives up in the high country for extended periods of time. Tea House Stay.
Day Seven: More up and down today, with a high point of 2,470M/7,657ft, we make our way to Dovan. This takes through the last of the bamboo and rhododendron forests to the tree line. Tea House Stay.
Day Eight: A trek into the high country ending at the Machhapuchhare Base Camp. This is the launching off point of climbing expeditions to some of the high peaks. At 3,700M/11,470ft this is one of the highest stays on our trek. Tea House Stay.
Day Nine: We travel past glaciers and among some of the highest peaks on earth to the Annapurna Himal Base Camp. This is the high point of our trek, literally 4,130M/12,803ft. Tea House Stay.
Day Ten: Dawn today can be quite a sight from the glacial moraine a short hike from our lodging. We start our descent from the high country, back to Dovan. Tea House Stay.
Day Eleven: Retracing our route, hiking to Chommorong. Tea House Stay.
Day Twelve: Trekking to Ghandruk. Tea House Stay.
Day Thirteen: Last full day of our spectacular hiking, we make our way to Birethanti. Tea House Stay.
Day Fourteen: The end of our Trek, we drive back to Pokhara and spend the night here. Hotel Stay.
Day Fifteen: A little time to explore Pokhara and then our flight back to Kathmandu. Hotel Stay.
Day Sixteen: Our last day in Nepal, this gives us another opportunity to play and explore in Kathmandu. This also serves as a buffer day for any delays we might encounter in our twelve days on the trail.
There is the option to do a sight seeing flight through the Mt. Everest Region. The 45 minutes flight allows to enjoy the views of the mightiest of the Himalayan peaks and ranges including Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501 m 4th highest), Mt. Makalu (8,470 m 5th highest), Cho O Yu (8,153 m 9th highest), Gosainthan or Xixapangma (8,011 m 14th highest).
On a very clear day the following are also visible: Mt. Kanchanjunga (8,598 m 3rd highest), Dhaulagiri (8,172 m 7th highest), Manaslu (8,156 8th highest) and Annapurna (8,078 m 11th highest) amongst numerous spectacular peaks above the range of 6000 meters. Hotel Stay.
Day Seventeen: Departure from Kathmandu. Transfers back to the airport and flights home.
